What to Expect

Lanett Church of Christ is known as a caring, friendly congregation. People are important to us and we would love to be a part of your life, and for you to be a part of ours. As our guest you should expect a warm and friendly greeting by a variety of people. We would like you to know that you encourage us through your attendance.

What time are services and what are they like?

We are honored to have you as our guest and offer the following commitments:

  • We will not ask you to stand alone.

  • We do not expect you to give money.

  • We give you the option of participating, or not in the Communion.

We have services on Sunday at 11:00 AM (ET) with Bible Study at 10:00 AM (ET). Wednesday night we meet at 7:00 PM (ET).

The atmosphere is warm and the people are approachable. Our worship will include:

  • Singing

  • Prayer

  • Communion

  • Offering

  • Preaching

We sing hymns a capella, that is without instruments. This is based on the practice of the early church which, as we understand, sang without instrumental accompaniment.

During the worship the congregation will be lead in several prayers by various men of the church.

We remember the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus by partaking in the Lord’s Supper. The baptized believers of the church will share in the Communion. Guests are free to decide if they would like to participate, or not.

During the worship the members of the church body will have the opportunity to give to support the work of the church. If you are a guest with us please feel free to simply pass the plate to the next person without making a gift if this is new or uncomfortable to you.

A portion of the worship service will be dedicated to preaching from the Bible. We strive to make the lessons presented both interesting and relevant to the lives of the congregation. At the end of the sermon an invitation will be given for anyone who may have a need to come forward in order to receive the prayers or ministry of the church.

What should I wear?

At our services, you will see people dressed in a wide variety of attire, from jeans to dress clothes. Please dress as you feel is appropriate for worship to God.

Are there classes for children?

At 10:00 AM (ET) on Sunday and 7:00 PM (ET) on Wednesdays there are classes for all ages.

Through our Bible classes and other activities throughout the year, children learn how the Bible instructs them in their life decisions, how to talk with God through prayer and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. They will also enjoy the friendship and encouragement of other children who are following the same path.

What about Bible classes for adults?

  • Sunday morning classes for all ages begin at 10:00 AM (ET)

  • Wednesday evening classes for all ages begin at 7:00 PM
